Sailing Around the World, Alone!

Sailing Around the World, Alone!
with Derek Hatfield

May 15, 2008 7:30 pm
Alix Goolden Performance Hall
907 Pandora Avenue, Victoria, BC
$8 per person (tickets at the door)
Join us to hear famous Canadian sailor Derek Hatfield share harrowing stories, photos and video clips from his previous “Around Alone” yacht race. In May 2003, Derek became
the 126th person ever to complete a solo circumnavigation. When you consider that over 1800 people have scaled Mount Everest, it becomes clear just how unique Derek’s accomplishment is. Derek will also share about his upcoming Vendée Globe race this winter—another single-handed race around the world, this time on the 60’ yacht Spirit of Canada. SALTS is pleased
to present a genuine Canadian hero to inspire each of us to dream big!
