Oak Bay Croquet Festival

An open invitation for August 26, 2006

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we extend an opportunity for you to enter a four person team, become a sponsor, or attend as a supporter, in the Oak Bay Classic Croquet Festival. This event is being held as a fundraiser for the Island Deaf and Hard of Hearing Centre, as well as part of the 100th anniversary celebration for the municipality of Oak Bay.
A wine and cheese mixer is scheduled on the Friday evening the 25th of August from 7:00 until 9:00 at the Windsor Park pavilion to introduce the rules of play as well as to pick up your team package. The tournament will begin at 9:30 on Saturday which promises to be a day filled with fun for all.
Plan to wear your croquet whites and celebrate this memorable event in support of your community.
For information on sponsorship or if you have any questions please click on the link or contact the event committee.
What is the Island Deaf and Hard of Hearing Centre? IDHHC was a locally development non-profit agency created to support those with a hear loss within our community, fifteen years ago. IDHHC is a United Way member.

Sincerely,

CRIMSON TIDE V THE PRAIRIE FIRE

SATURDAY JULY 8 th

HERD ROAD COWICHAN, K.O. 2 pm.

On account of the 2006 RCSL draw and with Manitoba dropping out of the Super League, the Crimson Tide play only one home game this year. This will be played in Cowichan on Saturday July 8, at 2 P.M. against the Prairie Fire, present leaders in the Western Canada RCSL standings.

The Tide were scheduled to play @ Windsor Park but on account of the construction of the magnificent new

“HELL FIRE FROM REGINA“

pavilion, the Tide management Committee felt that the state of the pitch posed a distinct danger to the players and looked for a change in venue. As luck would have it, Cowichan RFC once again came to our aid, and so Herd Road it is on Sat. July 8 at 2pm.The Tide must win this game by more than seven points and score four tries in order to be able to have a chance of reaching the RCSL Final and thereby regain the McTier Cup to Victoria.

Cowichan are going to town with beer and food tents serving lobster tail etc. Price of admission remains unchanged at Adults $10... ..,Students $5.....and

“THE TRACTOR BOYS FROM REGINA” Children U14 ....... Free (when accompanied by a parent).

For those following the World Cup Soccer, big screen TV viewing will be showing The third/fourth place match at high noon12 pm, in the Cowichan clubhouse.

So please get your friends and all your rugby folk out and support the Tide on our only RCSL Home Game. See you in Cowichan on Sat. July 8th. K.O. 2 pm.
